Enviromental Policy

In 2009, in accordance with the licence agreement, VPC completed the environmental baseline study for the Talitsky licence area. Since 2010, VPC has been monitoring the state of environment at the licence area of the Talitsky mine. 

In 2011-2012, VPC completed a preliminary environmental impact assessment for the period of construction and operation of the mine. Its results showed that the environmental impact is acceptable. 

In 2013-2014, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources for Perm Krai (RosPrirodNadzor) developed and approved emission and waste standards and disposal limits for the Company. 

In 2015-2016, VPC continued environmental monitoring at the licence area and implemented environment protection measures, in particular collecting and treatment of wastewater, ensuring separate collection of waste and its transportation to specialised organisations, as well as monitoring compliance with emission limits.

In 2016, the state environmental expert review board approved VPC’s design documentation for the construction of surface facilities at the Talitsky mine having found that the Project complies with the environmental requirements envisaged by Russian regulations and environmental law.

In 2017, VPC completed environmental monitoring at the licence area and was involved in environmental activities in the region of its presence.

In 2018, VPC continues environmental monitoring at the licence area and focuses on compliance with international environmental standards related to environmental and social management.
